The Art of Teen Angst Expressed Through the Medium of Abstract Animal Pawsts

Ah the early days of the internet. Where every website looked like it could give you a virus and every social media platform was sketchy in more than one way. What a wonderful and untouched world we once lived in. and thankfully, the party is not over because through the magic of Tumblr, there is a corner of the internet that still communicates in the same angst teenage way that we used to. With songs autoplaying at full volume on profile pages and hilarious animal images and videos doing the rounds and connecting hooman to hooman. It is a remnant of a simpler time when we channeled our teenage angst into what would become the marvelous world of memes we know today and we have a lot to thank that angst for.

So consider this list as a memorandum to the great animals that have crossed our virtual paths to create some of the funniest moments we ever had on the internet. The moments that translate into the weirdest, most nonsensical IRL inside jokes, the moments that made our generation.

It is a travesty that no one took the opportunity to make a mega-bite joke right here. But in all seriousness, we really do hope that this hawsome hawk did not destroy this hooman’s blackberry by mistaking it for food. Could you imagine how heartbreaking it would have been back in the day to have you BBM destroyed in front of your very eyes.

Remember the first few times you came across a fact that was born of the disconnection of hooman kind, before the advent of the internet.
